State Representative Candidate Bill Beck Gets Another Important Endorsement, This Time From The Nashville Firefighters IAFF Local 140
"Today, the Nashville Firefighters Association (NFFA) IAFF Local 140 is proud to endorse Bill Beck, candidate in the 51st Tennesee House of Representatives race in the August 7th Democratic Primary," said Mark Young, President of the local NFFA/IAFF union. "We look forward to continuing to work with Bill on legislation that impacts the fire fighting and emergency workers and public safety matters that affect Nashville."
The Nashville Firefighters Association IAFF Local 140 endorsement follows on the heels of several important endorsements for Bill Beck in recent weeks, demonstrating his strong appeal across a wide spectrum of the district.
Upon learning of the NFFA/IAFF announcement, Beck responded, "I am humbled by this solid show of support from the Nashville Firefighters Association and eager to get started in both introducing new, and maintaining current, responsible legislation on behalf of, not only the front-line firefighters, but also the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and the families they love."
"Our District 51 residents and businesses look to firefighters to protect them, and we cannot afford to put public safety on the back burner, regardless of budgetary and economic problems. We owe them the best for what they do, and I want to stand beside them, using my years of guidling leadership and management principles, to make sure that they have the tools they need to perform their jobs and to take care of their own personal safety demands."
The Nashville Firefighters Association Local 140 and the Tennessee Professional Firefighters Association protects the interests of all persons engaged in full-time firefighting and fire presention, and includes fire instruction, Emergency Medical System (EMS), fire/EMS dispatch, and other related emergency services in the State of Tennessee.
